Should I be weirded out…

…that my future father-in-law bought me the following gifts for Christmas?

(Home Comforts: The Art & Science of Keeping House)

Victoria’s Secret low-rise bikini underwear.

Even more disconcerting, he bought them in EXACTLY my size. My mother cannot even buy them in the right size. (I take one size in regular bikini and another in low-rise bikini and HE GOT IT RIGHT.)

To be fair, I did have the happy homemaker book on my Amazon wishlist.

He also got me A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns, which I have wanted FOREVER.

Not a bad haul… but a little funny.

Following the Cool Crowd

Thanks, Carrie and Cat for tagging me.

I feel so loved. 🙂

1. Total amount of music files on your computer:

1223 songs, 5.9 GB in my iTunes. I do take files out of there occasionally if I don’t want it to come up on random. 🙂

2. The last CD you bought was:

The Waifs! (I can’t remember which cd is was… I bought a bunch around the same time.) They are awesome!

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?

I will Survive by Cake

4. 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you:

JUST FIVE? C’est impossible! I chose a few more than five… oops:

Fields of Gold & Blue Skies both by Eva Cassidy

(Both of these songs tear me up. She has such a beautiful voice.)

Leslie Anne Levine by The Decemberists

(This is the first song I ever really listened to by the Decemberists. Totally got me hooked on them! “Boy, that guys sings funny. Wait! I loooove him!”)

Lighthouse by The Waifs (sample linked)

(Bouncy! Happy! That girl can play harmonica like nobody’s business.)

Wild Horses by the Sundays (The song might be here but I don’t know anything about it. lalala)

Reconstruction Site by the Weakerthans

(Makes me remember being a little kid and it is an AWESOME song to sing to in the car. Also, “little boy under a table with cake in his hair” cracks me up…)

Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim

(Guaranteed to make me jump up and dance crazily around the room. Plus, the video ROCKS!! Christopher Walken… hehe)

The Very Thought of You by Billie Holiday

(The first love song that I really adored. Wedding song? hmm…)

Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key by Billy Bragg

(Another bouncy song! Natalie Merchant is in there too…yeah!)

Coffee Stain by Sarah Harmer

(Another awesome song to sing in the car. or anywhere for that matter.)

Angry Johnny by Poe

(Great when you are pissed off. Grrrrr.)

I couldn’t find links for all of those and I didn’t want to get in trouble by putting them on the web… Darn! I tried…

5. Who are you going to pass this along to and why?

Casey because he lives for music. (though he will probably be mad at me… too bad, he has to still love me.)

Maya and Catherine, because they are both my new bloggy friends!

Blizzard Slideshow

(Click to make the pictures bigger)

We stayed inside for most of the day. I knit a ton and we cooked yummy food…

Then we decided to get outside and see what the “Blizzard of 2005” had done.

This is the view just outside our apartment building:

Here is someone skiing down our street:

We were laughing at all the cars covered by the snow until, of course, we found our own.

Look at it!! No more laughing.

Casey worked really hard. We only have one shovel so we took turns but Casey did most of the work. I did loosen up the snow but I am not sure how much I actually helped, armed with the ice scraper. haha

Almost there…

Casey said I shouldn’t post this one but it is too funny not to, right?!

My hands were FREEZING!

I’m sooo pretty! Yikes, that is so scary. 😉

I just got an email saying my university is closed tomorrow! YAAY! One more day of knitting! I was a bit freaked out about how to get to work…
