I have just spent the last 4 hours or so looking into grad school information. I have started reading my Graduate School: Winning Strategies for Getting In book that has been lying about our apartment for 2 years. (I am not sure it is going to be that helpful to me since it seems to be tailored more toward research masters candidates on PhD tracks- ahhno!- but I am not that far it in yet so we’ll see.)
Then I went online to do research on what programs are actually out there. OHMYDEARGOD. It takes so long to go through the different search engine sites and then go to the actual university’s site to look into the program and then realize it is not what you want and then go back to the search engine site and BAH!
The real problem is that I really don’t know what I want to do. I would really prefer a coursework program instead of a research program (I think…) and I am interested in several fields, without really knowing what they really mean. (International Education, Social Anthropology, Cultural Studies, etc etc…) I also am interested in going abroad if possible but navigating universities’ websites overseas is impossible. I understand the words but not what they are talking about.
I am screwed. and feeling so overwhelmed. and I have quit my job. I am idiot.
ahem.
To cheer myself up, I am going to rewind to this past Saturday when I met Maya and her boyfriend Steve! yay!
She is just as witty and smart in person as she is on her blog and Steve was a blast to hang out with!
We may have also gone to a certain yarn store…
We had fun running around and showing each other the green yarn.
Also, our guys are silly. haha

I have had that word stuck in my head for days, since I got a surprise package in the mail from Stephanie. The note said, “Behold! Canadian sock yarn!”
I love that word now. Behold! It just gets you excited, huh?
Well, behold this!

Koigu, of course. Color P601.
Sweet.
Thank so much, your Harlot-ness.

Well, you asked for it!
a few teasers first….
Go to our wedding album to check them all out, if you have a few hours to spare… Warning: there are a lot of them!! I don’t think anyone will look at all those except for us!
(well, maybe my Mom! haha)
There are SOOOO many good ones- our photographer, Julie Prem, did a phenomenal job. I narrowed the over 1000 pictures that she took into the album on our site, just over 300. Casey and I are so happy with the photographs. I can’t wait to get the even more beautiful prints (digital images are not as nice, as Julie reminded us…)
I am going to try to add captions to some of the pictures- not tonight though… yawn. There are quite a few things that need explaining, (”Why are there all these pictures of your hands, Jess? Oh, because I decided to cut a huge hole into my finger moments before I had to put on my wedding dress and I was bleeding profusely… Classic!” etc…)
Also on our album site are some honeymoon pictures (Ladera Resort, St. Lucia), some of our favorite guest shots and the reception table camera photos…
Happy! yay!

I quit my job today.
Now I know what you are thinking- that girl goes and gets hitched and then thinks she doesn’t have to work anymore. Even I am thinking that to myself in disgust, a little bit. (Why do I care if people think that anyway… ack.)
It really has been a long time coming though. I don’t really talk about work things here that much because it is stupid to do so but I think it is a positive step that I have taken. Yet, it terrifies me at the same time.
I am going to get a plan together for what my next steps will be… it is exhilarating and also so scary that I only have a sketchy idea of what will happen. Ever since we are little people, we have a lot of our lives set out for us… school then more school, get a good job, etc.
Right now the plan is to take some time to rest, spend some time with friends and Casey during the summer. Maybe do some traveling (CA, Germany?). Then take a GRE prep course and enroll in some courses in the fall to get me back in the groove of school. The goal is to get myself in a good place to apply to graduate programs during the winter.
So that is it. I am proud that I did it finally because I know it is the best thing for me right now. I will be moving toward an important and valuable step (graduate school) and I will also be more happy every day.
So that is it… why do I feel like I took a leap off a cliff?

Wow.
I have no idea how to even start because I have soooo much to say here. I guess I will start by warning you all that there is going to be a frenzy of wedding posts in the near future… just bear with me. It is just a way for me to document everything that has happened so that years from now I can look back and, hopefully, really remember this wonderful time in our lives.
Okay. Warning done.
As Casey said in his post the other day, our wedding was so unbelievable… we are both so pleased with the way things turned out. I feel soooo blessed to have such awesome friends and family and that is really the thing that has stuck in my head since that day.
Casey is working his sick little butt off trying to get some photos of the big day up for you guys. So you won’t hate us. Yes, we are bribing you with photos. Eventually.
I am not promising they will be up tonight because Casey is seriously coughing and looks like he needs to go to bed. Soon though! I would not be a good wife (hehe) if I didn’t make him get some rest soon.
In other news, I went back to work today. It was pretty tough getting my butt in there since I haven’t been to work in over 2 1/2 weeks. I almost forgot what the place looked like. Also, it is hard to sit in a chair for 8 hours when you get used to not doing that.
I have missed everyone in bloggyland… and boy have you guys been busy. In the time I have been gone, I have accumulated over 500 unread posts. Wow. It will take me a while to get caught up- anything important going on that I need to know about now??

I beat Jess to the punch with the first “real” post-wedding post. Check it out. You’ll even get to see a *second* photo.
Also, we don’t have the professional shots yet, but the pictures that we do have will be going up very soon. We’re ordering pizza and working on it now.
This is fun
It’s so cool that everyone cares. I wish we could have invited you all.

Thank you very much, everyone, for all your sweet notes about our wedding on Saturday. I have so much to share but no time to do a post!
I am so excited and so exhausted at the same time… I think everything is going to be great on the big day- thanks to the numerous hours of help from family and friends. I am so blessed.
I will check in when I can!
XO!
