Another weekend, please?

Monday, April 4th, 2005

Okay, I have been MIA. Sorry ’bout that.

It was a craaaaaazy weekend. Mom and I went out to the Cranwell spa to get massages and to do our hair and makeup trials for the wedding. Yes, Mom too. No, we aren’t crazy…

Why shouldn’t Mom get pampered a bit, I say! The girl who did my hair kept saying, “Oh, your mom is coming in too? How interesting…”

Anyhoo.

How’d it go? Well, that too was interesting. I will say one thing for her, she got my hair to have some volume. It was a little (a lot!) crazy though.

Okay, here are the real ones- can anyone say escaped mental patient? HAHAHAHA

I am not sure what to do now… It was okay after I left the salon and took the pins out, etc. Gah. I think it may be okay but I really am baffled. The hair stylist said that my hair needed to be shorter and you can clearly see that one side of my hair is longer than the other (near the nape of my neck)… What happened with that when I got my hair cut? I’m stumped about the hair thing.

As I mentioned, I also got my makeup done. ( flash pic / non-flash pic ) I don’t think I am going to have them do it for the wedding day because I have a lot of fun doing my own. I did like the lipstick though and just had to buy it. I don’t normally wear lipstick but it is a creamy moisturizing kind that I could tolerate.

So, this is when we come to the response portion of our program. What do you think?! (help me!) I don’t want people to run away from me on our wedding day!

(sorry for the obnoxious links to pictures but I don’t want Casey to see me in all my glory. hehe- sob!)

OH!! I did hear the best news today from BellaBelly… go say congrats to a sweet girl whose wish finally came true! :)

To Char or not to Char…

This weekend was pretty fun… we got to eat. and eat. and eat.

We all went out to Cranwell to go to the tasting event for the ole wedding- we tried appetizers, wines, desserts, entrees, etc… The food just went on and on. It was fun to hang out with my family but Casey and were totally exhausted when we got home. We hopped right into bed for a cozy Sunday nap. There is nothing better than crawling into your own comfy bed with your sweetie when you are that tired.

The big discussion of the weekend was the Arctic Char. One side of the room was Pro Char- the other, obviously, Anti-Char. Some people thought that our guests would not know what it was and wouldn’t order it. Others thought that we should put something on our menu a little more interesting than your typical steak/ chicken combo. The jury is still out but I think the Pro-Char group is leading.

I am feeling impatient for nothing in particular but just feeling this itchiness beneath my skin. I don’t know what I am waiting for… Some things I am so completely happy with- my family is okay (a little bruised but okay), my boy and are more in love than ever, I have some great friends (online and off), I am proud of my knitting progress, etc. In other ways, I feel like I am in total limbo.

I know this doesn’t make a lot of sense… sorry for being all vague. Just venting a little…

I have been reading a lot lately. I finished reading Jonathan Strange a couple weeks ago. (Although, yes, it is still on my sidebar- oops.) For those who are making their way through that book, it does get much better at the end. I still think it was a good book but it didn’t really call to me the way some books do.

Speaking of, I re-read the Anne Bishop Black Jewels Trilogy (all 1200 pages of it) because, as I mentioned before, a new book was out with some more stories. My poor brother was about to throw me out the window because I was not talking to him on the way out to Cranwell. He just couldn’t understand why I was so rude and I had already read it, right? It is just that good…

The newest A.B. book was good too- I just wish the stories would keep going. It helped fill in some things I wondered about from the trilogy. I gobbled it all up in a day though… I hate it when I do that.

So now I am in between knitting project and in between books. Not happy.

RANDOM post. That is what happens when you are tired and have a blog. oops.

Speaking of comfy beds…
