Happy Movie

Monday, October 4th, 2004

Do you know those movies that just make you happy? I am watching one of those right now- Under the Tuscan Sun. I don’t care that it is a very romanticized view of the world… I am eating it up right now.

We really need to get overseas again!!!!

I am going to enjoy it and knit my engagement shawl, which is coming along nicely. :) Pictures soon, I promise.

The first thing I will buy when I get paid:

I love that movie.

Awwww yeah! :)

I love Saturdays!

Saturday, September 25th, 2004

Yay!

I feel pretty lucky right now. I spent a beautiful sunny day with the love of my life, in a city that I adore.

We went into Boston this afternoon and got lunch. Then we went to see a movie, Shaun of the Dead, which I just went to see because Case was so excited about it. A movie about a dorky British guy and some Undead? hmm… I was a bit skeptical.

You know what? The movie rocked. I seriously laughed my butt off. If you would like a really fun movie and a good laugh, check it out. (Casey also talked about it a bit on his page.)

I am gonna go cuddle with my guy now. Hope you had a good Saturday too! :)

Movie Marathon!

Friday, July 2nd, 2004

As I have mentioned, tv sucks so I got 4 movies to entertain myself while I am housebound with the plague of death. (haha, feeling a bit dramatic)

Oooh fun!

So I got:

Calendar Girls
City of God
Return of the King (had to do it)
Blade Runner (Casey’s choice)
Magdalene Sisters

I just finished watching Calendar Girls… it is about this group of middle-aged women who pose nude for a charity calendar. It was so great! I cried my ass off… so touching. You should rent it and watch it with your mom.

Getting some good progress done on the Strappy Tank!

City of God, here I come!

Fahrenheit 911

I have to see this movie:

f911
(hahaha)

Here’s the trailer.

(update: I couldn’t resist adding that picture!)

WeatherManX

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2004

I am a neurotic weather checker. I have to know what the temperature is, what the humidity is, whether it will rain, snow, etc.

I walk and take the train to work- that means I am exposed to the elements for about 2 hours every day. In New England, this can be a bit challenging… slight understatement. In the winter, I wear 2-3 layers on every part of my body because, since I lost 40 lbs a couple years ago, I am constantly freezing. In the summer, I wear a tank top and then cover up with a cardigan when I get to work. Throughout the year, there is always the threat of getting drenched by a sudden rainstorm. I also have to worry about getting a sunburn- damn fair skin. Gah!

So, you can imagine how this little Mac program made me happy! (sorry pc folks)

(Thanks to Casey for telling me about it…)

Plus, it has cute little icons for your dock! yippi!

Movie Recommendations

Casey and I went to the Boston Independent Film Festival a couple months ago.

We saw some cool films and some of them are coming to theaters soon and I wanted to let you know about them…

The Corporation
Documentary that looks at the concept of the corporation throughout recent history up to its present-day dominance.
Imdb Profile
It starts playing in Boston on July 16th and is making its way around the US and Canada. You can view the trailer on the website also.

Word Wars
Looks at the world of competitive Scrabble.
Imdb Profile
It is playing at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, MA from June 11-17th and is also playing in other locations around the US. Here’s the trailer.

Ok, now I am going to go watch a silly show.

I’m out-

Stepford Wives

Friday, June 11th, 2004

I am so surprised! The Stepford Wives has a 6.0 on imdb.

Casey and I have a rule that we don’t see anything below a 7 rating on imdb. It may seem stupid but when we see things with lower than that, we always regret it.

But I really wanted to see it! Dammit. Dammit.

I probably will go anyway. :)

6′ Under

Wednesday, June 9th, 2004

oooooooh…

I got an email that there is a scene that you can view of the next season of Six Feet Under!

Sweet! I am still enraptured by the trailer. You can see it here if you haven’t seen it on t.v. (click on QuickTime or Real Player on the left)

nateclaire

I can’t wait until this Sunday when the first episode airs! We have a family party up in New Hampshire that day- I will have to make sure that we get back in time! (Still haven’t figured out how to program the damn VCR…. shut up. It is complicated with the way our cable is set up! really.)
