I am in love.

I have fallen for the Forest Path Stole (from Interweave Knits, Summer 2003):

Forest Path

(Thanks to C for letting me “borrow” her image- no scanner at the moment!)

I have to keep telling myself that there is NO WAY that I can knit this in time for our wedding. It is IMPOSSIBLE. This little voice inside me keeps saying how beautiful it is and how gorgeous it will look with my wedding dress. (Click here to see the dress- not you, Casey-boy!)

I think I will try to do this stole but will not kill myself if it is not done in time for the big day… and will (shamefully) copy Kat and do the Flower Basket Shawl (Interweave Knits, Fall 2004) instead.

Go see Kat’s finished one- it is so beautiful!

Oh and Susan is my lace HERO. Look at all the intricate projects she has completed… (in german and english)

And isn’t your theme kinda forest-y? Yeah that’d look amazing. Not to pressure you or anything. :)

Did you know that there are about 103 squares (not counting triangles and edges) in the Forest Path Stole. There are fewer days than that to your wedding! I love that shawl, but it might actually kill you to make it for your wedding. The Flower basket shawl is also beautiful and slightly more attainable it the time you have. But what about that lovely, light blue shawl you just finished. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something BLUE!

The flower basket shawl is what I was going to make with my handpainted yarn! That’s still the plan, unless something else comes up. Whatever you do, it will be great I’m sure. I love your dress!

Oh wow! The Flower Basket Shawl is lovely and very enchanting. And the Forest Path Stole is divine (but daunting, to me)! I think you’ll look fabulous whatever you end up completing (or not)!!

You can do it! How many sick days do you have? What if you suddenly got “malaria” or something and had to take a week off (to knit)? Or maybe something contagious. Is your boss a man? Tell him you are having something done to your uterus…he won’t ask any questions…then knit away!

Your dress is amazing! You’ll look beautiful in whatever you choose to do…knitting should relax you, not stress you out!

  7. samantha Says:

oh, it IS gorgeous. The shawl, and YOUR DRESS. Oh, I wish you had time to knit it, because it would look gorgeous. So I agree with taking lots of sick days! Go for it!

  8. Stacey Says:

Oh man…there is not enough patience in the world for me to make that thing. I am impressed by anyone who can though!

  9. Jen S. Says:

I don’t think I’d make it through that shawl. There’s enough pressure on the bride without a knitting project on top of it! But I believe you will get that smaller shawl done and it’ll be pretty with your dress. I may knit myself a furry white tiny purse to go with my dress? Maybe?
