The weekend is no more.

I have to admit it. The weekend is over. wah.

We did have a nice weekend though… so at least there is that. :)

Casey’s family (mom’s side) had a very nice combo party for Casey and me (engagement) and his grandparents (anniversary). His sister Carrie did a ton of work for it and it was really nice. We got some lovely gifts from people and it was very sweet. (Having everyone’s attention on us was very weird- I guess I need to get used to it because that is what happens with weddings!) We have lots of thank you cards to write!

I did a bunch of knitting on my new project, the PEI / engagement shawl (Fleece Artist yarn, pic here) and I am pretty happy with it so far. I am doing a pretty lacy pattern that is working rather nicely. Pictures soon but I am too tired right now.

I have a ton of stuff to do this week and I am trying not to think about it. (Harping only causes anxiety for no reason, heart beating out of chest, etc., causing a girl to get no sleep which is not productive at all) But I can’t help thinking about it a little bit.

It is a short week for me at work so that always makes things nutty- we are going to fly to Bermuda on Friday. It is a weekend trip that Casey’s company pays for- yay! It should be fun and I am looking forward to it… knitting and reading on the beach, sipping pina coladas. I’ll take it. Yes, siree.

Also, I am in the midst of crazy preparations for Casey’s birthday. I know everything will fall into place but I want to make it happy and special. Anybody have any good cake recipes they want to share?! (Please email them to me directly instead of commenting because Casey reads the comments- spanks.)

I am super behind on reading all of my bloggy friends sites- I feel so isolated… I hopefully will have some time tomorrow to get caught up. I miss you guys.
