Terrible, Awful, No Good, Very Bad Day
Awful stuff happened at work today. I can’t really write about it here because you never know when work folks will find out about your blog. Basically, I was a second away from bolting out the door.
I have cried and bitched and moaned about it to anyone who will listen… I even called poor Carrie, who is the sweetest thing ever. I feel a bit better because of that and the hugs from my boy.
Oh yeah- and some acquisition therapy.
I bought a Waifs cd- do you guys know them? (Aussies?!)
Casey and I went to see them at the Paradise on Friday night. They are totally great- my new favorite. That Vicky can play a mean harmonica and, of course, they have great accents.
I love the Simpson sisters’ amazing voices and the music is fun and sad and touching and bouncy. I know, it is really all of those things…
I especially love the song, “Lighthouse.” Don’t you just love songs that make you happy, even when you are feeling really sad? (wink-wink, Anne Marie)
I need to own all their cds!!
After that, I went and bought some more yarn for my cabled cardigan… mmm squishy!
Then I rounded out my ridiculous spending spree on some sparkly beads from Beadworks. It is quite expensive there but they have lovely beads. I have this idea to make some beaded flowers for me and my bridesmaids for our wedding. We’ll see if I can do it. So far I have one petal. hmmm…
Not so impressive:
This is going to take a while…
Anyone know how to do beading? I have no idea what I am doing!!

hey, sorry to hear about your bad day. is that title alluding to the kids book ‘terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day’? cause i remember that book and i use that phrase ALL too often to describe things. anyhow thanx for the comment on my blog, when u posted that i was actually just in the midst of updating so now the final post is actually posted if u wanted to see what i was posting those pics for.
the cabled cardigan sounds delightful, i’m still trying to decide on a project to use my newfound cabling skills on, i’m thinking toque knit in the round.
well i hope your day picks up, but if not.. theres always tomorrow
Love,
Colleen

I love the idea of the bead flowers -very creative and they look beautiful!
I have to admit that I am not very familiar with the Waifs although the boy reckons he knows them pretty well. I must have had my head in the sand or something!
Hope work gets a little better!

Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your bad day. You spend so much time at work and with work folks…it has to be pleasant, you know? Just smile, carry on and PLAN.

Oh, bummer!! on your bad day. That is no good, no good at all. Happy fuzzy thoughts headed your way. Plus, squishy sweaters and lovely hubs-to-be and beaded flowers (lovely idea!! You’re a rockstar!) always help soothe a little away, no?

P.S., thanks for your music tips. I always love them. There were a few sample tracks on the Waifs’ site! It reminds me of a campus band we had in college. I am all nostalgic now. Like I’m 18 all over again. =)

Hi! I just had to de-lurk to say I loved the title of your entry… Definitely my favorite children’s book. I’ve been enjoying your blog a lot and hope your week gets better.

Aww, sad schmoo. I’m sorry you had such a bad day. I hope today was better (hee, I just typed “yoda” twice instead of today.) Your beaded flower looks beautiful! What a fun idea. I know nothing about beading, but hey, you’ve got time to learn!

Oh wow, I love the Waifs! I was in Massachusetts last weekend for a writing retreat and got to see them play in Northampton. I’d highly recommend Sink or Swim, if you haven’t gotten it already.
