i am a foodie, and one of my favourite places to eat in Boston is in Allston right off the B line in this little hole in the wall chinese style vegetarian restaurant. Yes vegetarian. for some the source of squeemishness for carnivore "BOURDAINIANS" like myself, but the favourite of my friends and i is the NO NAME special at Grasshopper Restaurant. A flavour delight of deep fried gluten in an orange and sesame sauce with fresh veggies served with your choice of brown or jasmine rice! i suggest it with tea and one of the house soups on a cold day. Good,CHEAP, food in a great environment who could ask for more?

I know I am too late for this anniversary, but maybe another one/
I love the Jackson, NH area. Loads of great places to stay and eat. Canoeing, hiking, golfing, biking, horseback riding, and shopping at the many outlets in nearby North Conway. There are several nice little towns and villages close by and the skiing, in winter is fabulous.
If you like antique shopping or mini golf there are many many places for that as well.

The entire area is just beautiful and well worth a trip up there. It is in the Mt Washington valley and has swimming and Story Book Village for the little ones. It is not on the coast so no ocean, but the views are glorious and the waterfalls are breath taking. Several covered bridges there as well.

It is about a 2 ~ 2 1/2 hr drive from Boston. We have driven up and back on the same day many times.

Many, many happy anniversaries to you both.

It's a beautiful drive, but Stonington, Maine, and Inn on the Harbor, if they have an empty room.

Or Mystic?
