Retro Cardi- ack!

January 19th, 2006

I finished seaming up my retro cardigan and I am not so sure what I think…

It is quite snug. I knit it in the 34 but I wish I did the 37 now. I also added 2 inches of length to the body on each piece and also the sleeves. Good thing too! It would be halfway down my torso otherwise!

hmm….

Next up the collar… still not sure about this one.

it is GORGEOUS! Really. And it doesn’t look too small, but if its not too comfortable when done up then you can still always wear it unbuttoned with a cute tank underneath. Anyways, that yarn looks amazing and the knitting is so impressive. Way 2 go!

    I likes!!

I was thinking the same thing as Colleen…you are so tiny, you’ll be able to get a way with it…especially with a tank uner it!

I am knitting a skirt right now….just thought you’d be proud! HA!

It really doesn’t look too small. If the sleeves are comfy, I think it’s a keeper! and the color looks fabulous on you!

I think it looks gorgeous on you… I don’t think you need to do anything else, It looks very pretty.

very spring time…I second the tank idea underneath…with a swingy skirt and some slingbacks? hello! lovely!

I’m with the gang. I think it looks great on you. I absolutely love the color!

I think it looks fantastico! And the color looks great on you. You are really moving fast on this one. Woo-hoo!

  8. Catherine Says:

    Too cute.

  9. Maya Says:

It looks great from here! It seemed from the pattern pics that it’s supposed to be sort of snug. Are the armpits sagging? ;-)

that color is so beautiful on you. i think it would look good over a tank, or with just one button at the chest maybe? your finishing looks impeccable.

  11. Anne Says:

I think it’s very cute – is it supposed to button/close all the way up, or just at certain points? I love the color on you, too.

  12. Christie Says:

I like the color…it sucks that it might be a little too snug! Let’s reserve judgment until it’s all together!

I thinks it’s gorgeous. And the color is spectacular on you. I feel you on the long torso thing. They should make a long torso option in tops they they do in pants.

  14. Alison Says:

The color is fantastic, but I may be prejudiced. :) I agree that it would look really cute over a tank top in the spring/summer. If you like to close your cardigans a little bit and it won’t work with a button, you could always try a ribbon.

I agree, it’s a lovely color on you and you’ve done an awesome job knitting it.

  16. Lara Says:

I think it looks great! As long as your arms feel ok ( as a lot of people said), I say FABULOUS! it’s cute!

what about blocking it to be wider? I just lengthened a 100% cotton cardi (that I knit for my mom last year) by over 2 inches simply by blocking. its amazing what some water and some pins can do. good luck, it looks pretty amazing. it makes me want to knit one, even with the same yarn! i’m looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Oooh, I think it’s super. When you are small you shouldn’t wear big things, extra fitted is extra flattering! That said, have you washed it yet? I bet you could get an extra inch or so.

  19. Stacey Says:

I love the color, and it looks great on you! If it’s too small though…thats a whole other story. Do you think you will actually wear it?

And I can’t get over how fast some people knit. I am STILL working on a scarf that was in progress well before you started the retro cardi…

    Luscious and lovely!

i think it looks fabulous! I would just sew one button where you have it closed on the first picture..it’s so cute! :) The extra length is such a great idea…I thought it looked to short on the model.
