These books are so amazing, although the first book is really the best one. I picked them up while living abroad in Scotland for a while and they really made the history come alive for me. I like the way the historical research is done so thoroughly and well.

This is the thing-- I have the first books, all of them, autographed by Diana G. herself. She came to our local Chapters when I was living in Halifax. Now I'm WAITING TO BUY THE BOOK (it's so difficult!) until I see if she's stopping in Hfx this time, too, in which case I'll either take a road trip or try to get my friends to go and get it signed. If she's not stopping... gah, I don't know.
I AM TOO EXCITED.
I stop by the bookstore like, every day and stare at it, refusing to allow myself to touch.

Hey - Louise lived in Hali? I went to the Gabaldon signing on behalf of a friend and had her Outlandish Companion signed. I've only read the first two books and I loved them. My friend loved the books so much that her son's middle name is James.

I love these books! I've started about 15 people on them, and they are branching out to others, as well. I'm re-reading "The Fiery Cross" (could she possibly have told us about that first day in LESS than 256 pages?!?!?) so I am a bit away from starting this one. So cool to know others are reading her, too!
