How did I miss this?
I had no idea that this book came out yesterday!
It is a good thing that I am a good girl and have obeyed the pre-birthday moratorium on book buying… otherwise I would be still sitting in store’s parking lot reading it.
For those of you who don’t know, Diana Gabaldon writes these fabulous books called the Outlander series and you should read them. They are super awesome and ridiculously addictive but in a fun kind of way. You laugh! You cry! You throw the book across the room! It is fantastic.
Everyone I have recommended this series to has loved it… give Outlander a shot. They are great books to cuddle up with as the days are getting shorter and cooler. Grab a blankie and have a loved one bring you food.
Gosh, I wish I hadn’t already read it! If only I could have selective amnesia. haha
Here are the books in order:
There is also a companion book, giving us rabid fans more information:
Louise!! Did you see it was out?! Gee, I hope it is out in Canada. Otherwise, I am super mean. ![]()

I was just thinking that I should check blogs for book recommendations. Yay! I’m totally buying the first book!

Thanks for the book recommendation…I started reading Jodi Picoult’s books because of you

These books are so amazing, although the first book is really the best one. I picked them up while living abroad in Scotland for a while and they really made the history come alive for me. I like the way the historical research is done so thoroughly and well.

This is the thing– I have the first books, all of them, autographed by Diana G. herself. She came to our local Chapters when I was living in Halifax. Now I’m WAITING TO BUY THE BOOK (it’s so difficult!) until I see if she’s stopping in Hfx this time, too, in which case I’ll either take a road trip or try to get my friends to go and get it signed. If she’s not stopping… gah, I don’t know.
I AM TOO EXCITED.
I stop by the bookstore like, every day and stare at it, refusing to allow myself to touch.

Oh my gosh, I still haven’t read Fiery Cross. I love these books. They are so amazing!

Ooo, I love these books. Picked the first one up in an airport when the flight was delayed and I’ve been hooked. Now where is my Jamie Fraser…..

Hey – Louise lived in Hali? I went to the Gabaldon signing on behalf of a friend and had her Outlandish Companion signed. I’ve only read the first two books and I loved them. My friend loved the books so much that her son’s middle name is James.

Oh, I love these books so much! I had no idea that a new one was out. I might just have to go buy it tomorrow…

I love these books! I’ve started about 15 people on them, and they are branching out to others, as well. I’m re-reading “The Fiery Cross” (could she possibly have told us about that first day in LESS than 256 pages?!?!?) so I am a bit away from starting this one. So cool to know others are reading her, too!

Love these books! Love them! I just reread them all this summer, after turning a friend on to them, and then getting my mother hooked as well. I met Diana Gabaldon at the National Book Festival here in DC a couple of weekends ago, and they even had copies of this book a few days early. It’s fabulous, but I think the next one is going to be even better!!!
