With this ring…
(First part in a series of post-wedding entries)
I feel like there aren’t many resources out there for people looking for concrete information about wedding vendors. I mean, there is the the knot and other places but often those sites have so much stuff on them, there is no way to find what you are looking for in your area. (or maybe I get over-stimulated easier than others…dunno!)
Anyway, for MA/ NH area people who are looking for wedding rings, I would recommend Barmakian Jewelers (locations in Boston, Framingham and Nashua, NH).
We originally went there because we heard good stories from two of our friends… that they treated you with respect and they were pleased with their jewelry. Casey actually got my engagement ring there and I, of course, love it.
We are also very happy with our wedding rings- in particular, Casey’s. It is a platinum band with a ring of textured platinum in the middle… It is a very classy ring and looks great on his finger:
I decided to go with one of those eternity band things because when I tried on the plain platinum band, it just looked like a lot of platinum. I also have really long, skinny fingers (everyone always says I should play piano! yes, yes, I haven’t heard that a million times… haha) and I chose a very delicate band, with small diamonds.
I really like the combination now but I wasn’t really sure at the time I bought it because my engagement ring is slightly taller in the middle and I was worried it would look strange with a straight band. It doesn’t, or at least I don’t think it does!
The other really nice thing is that you can go in anytime with jewelry you have bought there and they will clean, buff and polish them for you. I stopped in to pick up our wedding rings before our big day and they polished my engagement ring and it looked lovely when they were done. Like brand new!
So, that is it… I guess Casey could comment with anything he would like to say about our jewelry shopping experience…

They look perfect together. I love them and I’m not even a jewelery person! There’s nothing like great service (after sales) to put a smile on a gal’s dial

I love them both! Just gorgeous!
I am still looking for my wedding band - I do want something like an eternity band, but my ring is slightly curved - and I don’t like curved wedding bands. So! I really need to figure this out! The Fiance will be easy, he just wants a plain gold wedding band.
But if I lived in Mass., I’d definitely take your advice!

I really like your rings and Casey’s ring. I am on a search for a wedding ring and I have really short fingers; I need something really thin so that the rings don’t fill up my whole finger. You have great taste!! I noticed your place card tree with the leaves having the names on them: very Martha!! I love it.

Beautiful! Your engagement/wedding ring combo looks really similar to mine. I have a princess cut solitaire in a cathederal setting, so it sits up pretty high. Casey’s band is gorgeous! I wish my husband had wanted something more fun. He got the plainest band because he hates wearing rings. He’s such a dork.

The rings are so beautiful and classy! Is it weird to get one if you don’t have a husband? I think I would look gorgeous in a ring like that…

I love the rings! My theknot.com experience is the opposite… there is absolutely nothing to be found, and everything in “Nevada” is of course in Las Vegas, which won’t work!

Gorgeous rings! Casey’s is really unusual and you’re right, it does suit him beautifully. I have the Etoile rings that Heather mentioned above and I really like them a lot.
I think people are always happy to hear good, detailed firsthand experiences with vendors so I look forward to the rest of your reviews!

I’m having a tough time typing after being blinded by all those diamonds…
Beautiful choices for both you and Casey.
