Another weekend, please?
Okay, I have been MIA. Sorry ’bout that.
It was a craaaaaazy weekend. Mom and I went out to the Cranwell spa to get massages and to do our hair and makeup trials for the wedding. Yes, Mom too. No, we aren’t crazy…
Why shouldn’t Mom get pampered a bit, I say! The girl who did my hair kept saying, “Oh, your mom is coming in too? How interesting…”
Anyhoo.
How’d it go? Well, that too was interesting. I will say one thing for her, she got my hair to have some volume. It was a little (a lot!) crazy though.
Okay, here are the real ones- can anyone say escaped mental patient? HAHAHAHA
I am not sure what to do now… It was okay after I left the salon and took the pins out, etc. Gah. I think it may be okay but I really am baffled. The hair stylist said that my hair needed to be shorter and you can clearly see that one side of my hair is longer than the other (near the nape of my neck)… What happened with that when I got my hair cut? I’m stumped about the hair thing.
As I mentioned, I also got my makeup done. ( flash pic / non-flash pic ) I don’t think I am going to have them do it for the wedding day because I have a lot of fun doing my own. I did like the lipstick though and just had to buy it. I don’t normally wear lipstick but it is a creamy moisturizing kind that I could tolerate.
So, this is when we come to the response portion of our program. What do you think?! (help me!) I don’t want people to run away from me on our wedding day!
(sorry for the obnoxious links to pictures but I don’t want Casey to see me in all my glory. hehe- sob!)
OH!! I did hear the best news today from BellaBelly… go say congrats to a sweet girl whose wish finally came true!

I dunno . . . I think the hair is cute! But I may not be the right person to ask . . .

I really liked it — thought it looked funky and chic like you’d see on a movie star– but maybe I’m not the right person to ask either . . ..

I think you look great. But mostly, it’s all about you *feeling* great. After our wedding, which really was the happiest day of my life, I pretty much felt my mission in life was to scream from all rooftops that the wedding industry is ALL LIES. You do NOT need monogrammed napkins unless you want them. You do NOT need to rent a fancy getaway car unless you want one. You can ditch the cake cutting if you want to. You can wear blue shoes if you want to. Really, your wedding is like the greatest celebration in your whole life, and a day that should be all about you and Casey and your love for each other. If you feel stress about how the woman did your “wedding ‘do,” go to a different salon, spend a couple of hours and play. But maybe don’t tell them it’s for your wedding. Sometimes, when people remotely related to the wedding industry get involved with things, it’s like all creativity goes out the window, and everything starts to look the same. If you just go in and say you want a fancy ‘do that makes you feel fabulous, maybe then you’ll find the perfect one for your wedding.
Ok. End of rant. Just do everything you can so you and Casey are happy. The rest are just little details.

I think the hair is cute. Honestly, I think your hair would look cute no matter what you did to it, you are like my buddy Stacey, you just have good hair.
I agree with Kim, it is all about how YOU feel. And you know what? No matter what your hair looks like, you are marrying the man you love, which is the best part of the whole deal.

i like the makeup a lot, especially the lip color. [as an aside, try tarte’s sheers and glosses. they are great, light products. not goopy or drying at all.]
maybe you could look at some hairstyles you like out of “regular,” non-bridal magazines. i think sometimes stylists get stuck in “wedding hair” mode and try to do too much or put an updo on you when you’re not an updo kinda gal.

I think hair and makeup both look fantastic. I think it’s hard to tell with hair without the dress, because it’s fancy hair, ya know? And if you’re wearing jeans or a bathrobe it’s going to look a little different than it does when you’re in your fabulous gown. YAY! Those pics of you are too cute, by the way. You will be the prettiest bride EVER. Besides my twin sis.

You look great! I have issues with lipstick. I hate having my hair stick to my lips when I wear lipstick. Anyway, back to you lol. You’re gonna be gorgeous, as others have said it’s all bout how you feel

I like the first two pictures from the side. The pictures of the front didn’t show the hairstyle being as cool as it was from the side. Sometimes I feel like hair stylists do all sorts of cool stuff back there but don’t think about what it looks like from the front. If she can enhance it some way bring more curls to the front…? But if you feel uncertain about it now, I think you’ll feel uncertain on your wedding day, so perhaps you can tell the stylist and see what they suggest (that is their job they should do it again for free!) or find more examples with shots from all sides (even if it’s not the same hairstyle but you like the front on one or the back on another) and see what they can do?

Hmmm…I like it. But if you feel like it’s not “you” then it’s probably good to follow some of the advice here and try some other dos. Makeup’s good too - you’re going to look marvelous, no matter what…

I like it too. Maybe something sparkly in there? A headband or little pins or clips? If you don’t though, then don’t do it, because the photos will drive you nuts for the rest of your life.

Amazing what they can do with jessica’s sraight little hair!!!
I think you look cool and very purty but everyone is right that if if doesn’t feel like you then you won’t be happy.
hmmmmmm

I think I can see what the stylist was trying to do with your hair. It’s funny because your hair is really cute in other pictures when you haven’t done anything to it at all! I say that you can wear it more sleek like you would every day and maybe dress it up with acessories or your veil. (Not that I know what you look like every day - just what I’ve seen on here.)
My friend Arlene asked me once how do I wear my hair normally and i said I wear it down and she said then I should wear it down for my wedding b/c it will look more natural.
At any rate, you will be bee-you-tee-ful for your wedding no matter what you do. Oh, and I really like the makeup they did!
