Okay, I lied.

January 25th, 2005

I am still cranky.

I took the car today. I know, I know, I am a stupid and lazy girl! I hope there is a space when I get home or I will be crying! It worked out fairly well though- Casey shoveled a little bit where the plows had made a small ridge and I drove right out! yay!

The trouble started when I got on the Mass Pike. My car was bouncing all over the road- shaking like a Parkinson’s patient every time I drove above 50 miles an hour. I am praying that there is just ice and snow trapped in the wheels, which has happened before.

We also have a crack in our windshield. It is on the right side, by where the sidewalk was, so I have no idea how that happened. Now I gotta call and get someone to fix that. Gah.

I am done whining for now. I will try to post some knitting pictures tonight!

I don’t think I’d want to walk in all that stuff either! Hope you can figure out the park situation. I always have trouble finding parking here.

You are so brave to get on the road! I hope that the general public drives better in Boston than they do in Georgia, in the snow, that is… I’m TERRIFIED to get on the road with those crazy maniacs that don’t know how to drive in inclement weather!

And sorry about your windshield :(
Just get you some Alabama chrome (duct tape) and fix it right up!

I hope you’re feeling better today! Bummer on the windshield…extreme cold temps + an inopportune pebble or something shot off from the snowblowers nearby maybe?

RYC, yep, Monkey is supposed to come home tonight. When snow showers are predicted for here and in New England. =|

Yeah, that shaking over 50 mph is probably ice and snow stuck under your car. That happened to me this week and I freaked out. But ironically the more driving you do the more of a chance the stuck snow will fall out. Fun. Also last night I drove thru a small snowbank and my ABS and brake lights started blinking madly on my dashboard. Another freakout! But that too was ice or snow stuck in the brakes and once I pumped them a few times the lights went away.

The turnpike is scary enough without terrible snow! What a scummy day.

Dear Cranky Crankerton, We love you. Even when you’re cranky. I hope you had a better day today!

The wheel thing is definitely ice and snow. It happened to my car and my husband’s car, and went away in a day. Don’t you worry!

Your lucky that was the only problem you had. I went out and later that night I found myself spinning my wheels trying to get out of a parking space. I had to give up after an hour and pay $25 for a taxi ride back to my dorm. Some friends help me get the car out the next day.
