Actually you already made it through the most depressing day of the year! (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6847012/)

I love you but go to sleep, you sound like tired-Jess. Call me though, I haven't talked to you in a while.

ok so here in Chicago, what we do is move our car out of the space, right? then we take whatever junk we can find and put it in the space to save it. some people get fancy and use actual traffic cones, but i like the folks that use a couple folding chairs spread apart with a broom resting on them. basically just whatever you can find. we even saw a guy put his kids toy car in the space. thats about the most logical i spose. its a car. kinda. that big plastic bubble looking car. yeah that one. anyway... you could just take the train i spose too. have a good day!

Bummer! I would vote for keeping the parking space (they are like gold, esp. when you and your beloved have paid in a lot of backbreaking shoveling!) and making a game of trekking through the unshoveled paths to the train. I do understand your ire...I hope you feel better soon (a good, toasty nap is always a good thing).

p.s., I totally owe you a return email and apologize for the long ass wait...I've been MIA from email for a few weeks because of the winter glums!

Oh Lordy, I've just been catching up on your blog! Happy Birthday to Loody! And St. Lucia's Woo--hoo! (with a capital FAN-CY).
I thought about ya'll when I saw the blizzard on tv yesterday. I was hoping you would have some time off from work. But I suppose those lunatics up there who are in charge and all, can't see an opportunity for days off if it snows down on their heads. Gaw! How can they expect you to go anywhere? You have to be like Shackleton, that antarctic explorer guy, just to get to the liquor store (the only place worth braving a blizzard for) let alone work!

PS TAKE THE TRAIN!

Um, p.s.: just wanted to corroborate with Cat's Chicago tales. See here: http://www.rachelleb.com/002150.html

Chairs in parking spots does make me chuckle. I hope it makes you too!
