Making some progress…

January 21st, 2005

Tomorrow we are driving up to New Hampshire to go bridesmaid dress shopping with Casey’s sisters and mother. I am praying that they like the dress that Julie picked because the shop in Portsmouth only has 2 dresses options for them.

Think good thoughts, kay?!

(Yes, I know it is my wedding and they should be honored to be a part of it, blah blah. But one of his sisters is 15! And one is a complete clothes diva! I feel pressure!!)

The other kinda stressful thing is that we are supposed to be slammed by a huge snowstorm tomorrow afternoon… right about when we will be driving around. Gotta love New England, baby!

Casey and I may have made a decision about our honeymoon destination…

We have done some research and couldn’t really afford to go as far afield as we might have liked (Australia) but I think it will be a beautiful relaxing retreat for us to spend the first 10 days of being husband and wife. (hehe!)

St. Lucia’s Ladera Resort

Laderaroom

Anyone know any good sites to get flights?

Sad that you won’t be coming to Australia after all but by the look of that site you will be having a gorgeous honeymoon!!

I am also sure that the girls will love the bridesmaid dress that you and Julie picked! It is absolutely beautiful after all!

when we flew to st. lucia, we used an american express travel agency to purchase bulk airfare and we saved a bundle, spending 50% of what it would’ve been through air jamaica. so i recommend flying american airlines through american express travel, if they can offer great pricing for when you’re going to be going! :)

oh and btw, there are *two* airports on st. lucia, so be sure you check to ensure that the airport you’re flying into is the one closest to your resort. i’m happy to give you lots of info on what it was like when we went there in june of 2003. just drop me a note and i’ll e-mail you back. not sure how much traveling you’ve done (it was my first time visiting a place even slightly not like the developed U.S.) and i was a little disturbed by some of the things i saw between the airport and the resort and while out on day trips. just an FYI. not to take away from the amazing resort and the island itself! it’s just an undeveloped island in many ways, which you probably already know! :)

YIPPEE!!! You’re going to St. Lucia! That was our honeymoon destination! Sigh…soooo beautiful. As for the “sights” in between the airport and resort…most islands have this sort of scenery. The locals in St. Lucia are AWESOME! So incredibly friendly and the island itself is superb! Try to take a helicopter flight…just amazing!

The bridesmaid dress is lovely….enjoy this time…wish I could do it all over (with the same boy of course ;)

Do NOT go there for your honeymoon! How the hell is real life ever going to live up to that start?

Seriously, it looks wonderful. I think my brother went to someplace near there for his wedding trip and loved it.

  8. Christopher Says:

Oh man, I totally wanted to go there last year. But it was expensive and not my honeymoon :-P

Check out itasoftware.com (ahem) for fare searching; you can actually purchase the same tickets from orbitz.com or a travel agent using the fare codes it gives you.

I hear very good things about St.Lucia’s… I am curious about flights as well.. I think I looked at vacationing there one time and the ticket prices totally turned me away.

I’m sure they’ll be happy with the dresses. I loved the one you picked! What a great place to honeymoon too. Lucky lucky girl! :)

  11. Carrie Says:

They will LURVE the dresses, I promise.

And St. Lucia! Holy crap! that looks absolutely amazing…

aww, it makes me happy to think of a married Casey and Jess. *smile*

Sigh.. St. Lucia looks like the perfect destination.

Hoping the dress shopping goes smoothly, remember, most bridesmaids have NO choice!

(I should really send a pic for your commenters pic gallery but I am camera shy!)
