Yay! I can feel my fingers!

January 19th, 2005

It is a heat-wave, people. I am sitting here in short sleeves! I know, I can hardly believe it myself!

It has hit a balmy 27 degrees outside and the heat in our apartment can somehow keep up now. For good measure, I borrowed a space heater from work and now Casey is complaining that it is too hot.

“Too hot”? What is this “too hot”?

I have to share my second “I am so cool” moment this week. I was getting up to grab a book from my bookshelf at work and I was totally out of it, thinking about what I was going to look up, and I didn’t realize that my space heater was right in my path. I kicked the top of my left foot into the space heater- hard- and then twisted somehow and ended up pulling a muscle in my neck and landing on my butt with my legs in the air.

Of course, the first thing I did was that, “Did anyone see that?!” looking around thing and I think the episode went undetected. Whew! I am now sporting a lovely bruise on the top of my foot though. Goody, one more to add to the collection.

I should wear a rubber suit! Seriously.

Seeing these just made me happy for some reason:

    Dear Calamity Jane,
Be careful! Sticking your foot into a space heater could have electricuted you! And then you wouldn’t be able to enjoy all that glorious heat in your apartment. It scares me to think that you people are up there living in a place where 27 degrees is warm. Yikes!

    Yay for Casey shirts!!

And I SO did something like that last night … I was at the UGA Chapel, which is huge and echo-y, and I tripped over my own feet and almost fell. And barely missed screaming out a curse word at the service for MLK week. D’oh! We are sisters in clumsinesss… but it’s part of our quaint charm, right???

Oh dear, a space-heater run-in! I am like Carrie in that I sometimes trip over my own feet. Daily. My officemate Tammy and I both do it on a daily basis and then feel we must call each other out, “Chunk!” as in, you just took another chunk of the floor with you.

Hope you heal quickly with the balmy temps and all (it felt downright hot here yesterday because it was 33!)!

I can relate to all of this, except the cold. I admit, I like the cold (I even admitted it to the internet on my blog today). Though I’m sure I’d appreciate the heat if I didn’t have it for a while. :-)

Leaving the bar last Friday, I smashed the ridge above my eye on the car door (just being dumb, not drunk). Luckily, my bangs are really long right now and covered up my semi-black eye.

My boy’s shirts hanging on the shower rod would make me happy too. :-)

Hehe I am so not going to tell you how hot it has been in Canberra and Sydney this last week. :-) I hope your warm weather spell lasts for a while!

Looks like Casey has the same taste in shirts as Randy does. Wait, I mean, the Casey has the same taste in shirts as I do since I am the one who usually buys Randys clothes…
