i heard the editor of time explain the choice. first of all, he explained that being chosen man of the year isn’t necessarily an endorsement. osama bin laden could have been chosen. and the overwhelming issue of 2004 was iraq, so time chose the shrub as the symbol of this iraq war gone awry (the gone awry is me editorializing). so it’s not that time thinks he’s wonderful or anything. i personally think the cover photo makes a lovely dart board cover.

Yeah Time Magazine usually has presidents on their cover as the man of the year after an election. BLAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
