Quicky

October 25th, 2004

It is late and I am not feeling very well… so this is a quick post.

I’ve had a busy couple of days. Casey and I went up to New Hampshire with Julie to help work at the farm where Julie and Adam are getting married next September. I will post some pics of us city folks getting down and dirty tomorrow. :)

I also went gown shopping with Julie again tonight. Again, click below to get details (so Casey won’t accidently see something he shouldn’t!)

We went to Priscilla of Boston. The saleslady was not very friendly or enthusiastic so that was a bit disappointing. The dresses were very beautiful and I liked this one in particular. Guess how much the darn thing costs?! $5,000.00. Yep. No way in hell am I spending that much money for a dress. It was fun to try the gowns on though.

Julie thought that the one I tried on last week looked better on me and I agree. The one I tried on at L’Elite flattered my shape better and it is also much less expensive.

I kinda came up with a theme for our wedding and Casey and Julie are are pretty excited about it too. I am feeling sick so I am going to leave you hanging and tell you about it tomorrow. :)

Feel better woman…I wanna hear the theme!
And that dress is GORGEOUS. Why in the hell is it 5 Big Ones? Are there diamonds on it or something? Was it hanging in Princess Di’s closet?
Yeesh. If I could sew worth a damn, I’d make one just like it for you (sans diamonds) :)

oh, sweet frecklegirl, feel better! Send all your bad germs to me, I’ve got time on my hands and being sick could give me a nice little project.

ugh. i once had to purchase a bridesmaid’s dress at priscilla’s and not only were they rude to me but they were rude to the bride.

That dress is pretty! That’s a ton of money!

On the other end of the spectrum I think the dress I bought was “low cost” because when I asked the saleswoman who the designer is, she dramatically lowered her voice and whispered to me behind her hand “It’s a Lady Roi” so I wouldn’t be “embarassed”! Whatever!

    Feel better!

After looking at beautiful, but costly, dresses, I actually ended up with a Nicole Miller “bridesmaid” top and bottom. It was simple and beautiful and was a fraction of the cost because it wasn’t marketed as a dress for a bride and it came in a nice cream color. I was able to afford, then, nice jewelry, shoes and a veil. After all was said and done, I was happy I didn’t take out a loan to buy a dress because the wedding was beautiful and I can look at the dress in my closet and not feel too guilty :)
    Hope you feel better soon!

Oh that’s a beautiful dress -so romantic- but what a price. My god when I convert that to Aussie dollars, I almost fall off my chair :-)

I hope you’re feeling much better soon!
