Dress Shopping

October 22nd, 2004

So Julie and I had a great time shopping and hanging out yesterday. Girl bonding time! :) We are trying to squeeze as much time together in as possible because she will be moving to Germany in about 5 weeks… yikes!

We went to a bridal shop on Newbury Street in Boston called L’Elite and they were awesome. We had a really nice girl named Nicola show me dresses and help me try on about 20.

The hardest part was telling her what I liked or didn’t like about each of the dresses. I mean, they are all white and some of them are not that different. I did tell her what I was looking for and she did a great job weeding through all the gowns. Julie was a huge help too, “That one is tooo…. typically bridal.” :)

It turns out that the Melissa Sweet dress that I loved was totally unflattering on my body. It looked like I had no boobs and no waist and that just won’t do!! haha

I did find a beautiful dress that I loved and my friend, Julie, thought it looked great on me too. The bonus: it wasn’t the most expensive dress in the store! (For some reason, I thought that I would fall in love with a really expensive dress and not be able to get it.)

I can’t put details about the dress I liked on here because Casey will see it but email me if you want the dirt! :)

I made another appointment for my mom to come with us to check it out at the beginning of November. She is going to come up and we will have a gown shopping day with Julie. Fun stuff! I need to get my order in so it is good my mom is able to come up from New Jersey that soon. The bridal shop said that dresses can take up to 6 months to come in and then you need 3-4 months for alterations. Good thing I came in when I did because I am running late. (running late?! We are getting married in June… gotta love the bridal industry!)

Casey is in bed before me so I should go now. I don’t know why but he decided to go to bed around 10:30 tonight… um hello? Friday night?

It is so ironic because I usually jump into bed around 10-11 on weekdays and Casey is up much later. I literally have to beg him to come to bed! (I can’t really sleep soundly until he is in bed too.)

Hmm… maybe this is too much information?

Anyway, I am putting off going to bed because I have to go to work tomorrow. On a Saturday! It is soooo wrong!

Time to stop putting off the inevitable- at least I get to cuddle. :)
