Taxpayer Dollars at work!

October 21st, 2004

On the Massachusetts Turnpike, there is a big sign that I only assume is for traffic alerts. However, I have never seen anything traffic or safety related on that sign… it is always something to do with Boston sports.

Last year, there was a large span of time where, “Cowboy Up!” was the important message the turnpike authority wanted to communicate.

Today, this is what the sign looked like (click to make bigger):

There was also an accident right before the sign. Coincidence? I doubt it.

(I wasn’t not driving when I took the picture- for the record. haha)

we are getting those signs put in all over too. i think they are for those amber alerts… and traffic. but ours never say much more than “BUCKLE UP! ITS THE LAW!” or “ARRIVE ALIVE! DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!”

i wanna be the one in charge of putting stuff up. heeeeee heeeeee!

If we had that sign out here in Cali, my husband would FREAK OUT. He is a lifelong Yankees’ fan….so as you could imagine, he was CRUSHED last night!

Anyhoo….it was just a game to me! LOL

Have fun dress shopping! It IS fun, the saleswomen fawn all over you and you get to play Princess :)

Great sign. NOT a sports fan but did watch it with Hubby. I always root for the underdog and the underdog did GOOD.

There are signs like that in Atlanta that tell you how long it is supposed to take you to get to different popular exits based on traffic reports. It’s always dissapointing. I think they incite road rage. Why can’t they just hang up huge pictures of Brad Pitt or something to put a smile on your face in the car?

have you noticed how traffic slows right in front of those signs? so annoying…sounds like everyone needs a speed reading course…
