Beautiful Bermuda
Well, we are back in chilly New England. It was so hard to get on that plane yesterday but you have to come back to reality some time, I guess.
We were just in Bermuda for the weekend but it totally revived us, I think.
The island was just wonderful. The weather was absolutely perfect even though the reports earlier in the week said it might rain. There were beautiful blue skies the two days we were there…. it really couldn’t have been better.
Casey and I spent a lot of time sitting in a cabana (frecklegirl and the sun to not get along!). Everyone kept coming by and giving us advice on how to get a tan. We were laughing to ourselves because everybody who did that was bright red, not tan!
This is basically what we looked like for two days:
As you can sorta see in that picture, I was working on my engagement shawl project… it is coming along pretty well! I also read a book, that was totally awesome… I can’t wait to read the next books in the series. (thanks, Pipstar!)
Here is my view… not bad, eh?
The water is really that amazing color. The sand is so soft and fine, almost like powder, and when you hold it in your hand you can see flecks of pink. Sigh.
When we weren’t laying on the beach being bums, we were eating or drinking. We went on a lovely boat cruise and here are Casey and I on the boat:
Here is one of Casey and I at the cocktail hour at our hotel:
Casey’s company paid for the entire trip. It was absolutely incredible. We spent $3 until we got to the airport and bought some coconut rum cake.
yum! (and this trip was not cheap! Just to give you an idea- a bottle of water at the hotel costs $8!)
It was so generous of them to pay for all those people to go to Bermuda! It just blows my mind! It was nice because you were with the other Ken’s people for most of the time but it wasn’t obnoxious or anything. We shared a cabana with the CEO- one of the guys who pays for the trip. That is just the kind of place it is. He was sitting next to us smearing on sunscreen, wearing a white safari hat, and drinking a Bud. hehe
I also enjoyed being there because everyone seems to love my guy! It was funny watching Casey get all flustered when people would go on and on about how wonderful he is. As if I don’t know!
It is weird being back home after the wonderful warmth of Bermuda- it was about 80 degrees the whole time and here it is fall!! We got back to 55 degree weather yesterday. brr! Autumn has arrived!
I will just close my eyes and pretend I am still here:

Oh I’m so glad you had such a fabulous time and that you enjoyed the book (whew!). Casey’s company sounds absolutely fabulous -do they have offices in Australia?? hehe
Btw does your swimming costume really match your bucket hat or are my eyes deceiving me???

You look so happy in the pictures! What a nice trip you had. Love the black dress and the cute matchy hat and swimsuit. It is starting to get cool on this coast too, but I love the fall. How are the wedding plans coming?

I am trying to put myself there too (at least in my mind). Thanks for the nice escape. It is fall here in Germany too. Bundle up and wear rain gear!

sounds like a lovely escape – of course, if you want warmth, please come to Mississippi. We’re still wearing our short sleeves.
You definitely brought the cuteness to Bermuda – gorgeous everytime! I’m so glad ya’ll got to go play for a few days and relax. You deserve it!

Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed yourselves so much (you deserved it!!). You two are the cutest couple. I love that he gets flustered while being lavished with compliments. What a great company!

I for one am green with jealousy… Bermuda. For free. (OK, $3 – I can pay for that from my couch cushions!) My husband’s company did just spring for everyone to go to Six Flags amusement park, so I guess it’s not all bad…
Knitting on the beach – gotta love it!

Wow, it looks like you guys had a wonderful time. And you both look really sharp in those pictures! I love your black dress and Casey’s khaki colored jacket. VERY stylish. Umm, does Ken’s need someone to, ummm, taste test the salad dressings?
